International Day of Yoga-2025 was celebrated at Odisha Hydro Power Corporation at its Corporate Office and Units on 21st June 2025. On this occasion, a Yoga Training-cum-Awareness programme on the theme “Yoga for one earth, one health” was organized in association with Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya, Bhubaneswar at the OHPC Training Centre, Bhubaneswar. In the morning session, the yoga training was conducted by the teachers- Sri Prakash Chandra Gajendra, Ms. Ayasakantaa Das from Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya, Bhubaneswar. Various Yoga sequences for daily practices, Aasanas, Pranayama for Health benefits were practiced. In the afternoon session, internal yoga faculty of OHPC Sri Suvendu Kumar Biswal, Dy. Manager (IT) imparted knowledge on various yoga sequences like Yoganidra, Shavasana, etc. to the participants. To mark the occasion, an inaugural session was held in presence of Sri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR), OHPC. Addressing the gathering, Sri Patnaik emphasized on practicing yoga regularly. He said, “Yoga is not a one day practice, it should be a regular habit in our daily routine. At OHPC, we should build a culture of practicing yoga regularly for the well-being and good health.” Further, Sri Patnaik felicitated both Gurus from Satyananda Yoga Vidyalaya with mementoes. Ms. Ayasakantaa Das conducted an elaborate yoga session including asanas and pranayamas such as Tadasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Surjya Namaskara, Yoga Nidra, KapalaBhati, etc. Sri Prakash Chandra Gajendra presented a Yoga Awareness Talk and emphasized on the importance of Yoga for healthy life & how it helps to maintain physical as well as mental fitness. He explained about Yoga Nidra and different pranayamas like Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom, etc. to increase the energy level in the body. Sri Suvendu Kumar Biswal performed a yogic sleep for mental well-being. Through meditation and spiritual communication he made the participants to feel like as they were moving inside the Lord Jagannath Temple, Puri. He also explained and practiced Shavasana to the participants. OHPCians actively participated in the programme and practiced various Aasanas and Pranayamas. T-Shirts and Yoga mats were distributed to the participants on this occasion.

OHPC signed MoU on 30-April-2025 with the Department of Energy, for FY 2025-26. Sh Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance) representing OHPC and Ms Nibedita Mishra, IAS, Joint Secretary representing Department of Energy,GoO signed the MoU in presence of Sh Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS , Principal Secretary, Department of Energy, Sh Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Director Operation(I/C) and Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR).

OHPC’s role has been time and again reaffirmed in powering public welfare and various developmental works of the state government by way of providing green, cheaper and sustainable Hydro energy. During FY 2023-24, OHPC has generated 5164 MU of electricity with Annual Revenue of Rs. 896Cr and post tax Profit of Rs.307Cr. OHPC has been paying dividend regularly since last several years. Sh Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS Principal Secretary, Energy & Electronics & IT, Govt. of Odisha and Chairman & Managing Director of OHPC handed over dividend of Rs. 92.22 Cr for FY 2023-24 to Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sj. Mohan Charan Majhi at the Lok Seva Bhavan, in the presence of Sj Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Hon’ble Dy Chief Minister, Energy, Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment. In the occasion, Sh Manoj Kumar Sahoo, IAS, Pvt. Secretary to Chief Minister, Odisha, Smt. Nibedita Mishra, IAS, Joint Secretary, Sh Debi Dutta Tripathy F.A.-cum-Additional Secretary to Govt, Energy department, Sh Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), Sh Sandeep Patnaik, Director (Human Resource), Sh Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) and other senior officials were also present.

The 30th Foundation Day of Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. was celebrated with grandeur at the IMMT Auditorium, Bhubaneswar on 21st April 2025. Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS (Retd.), Hon’ble Chairperson, Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, Principal Secretary to Govt., Energy and Electronics & IT and CMD, OHPC presided over the meeting. Shri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), Shri Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation) I/c and Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR) of OHPC were present on the dais. The Chief Guest and other dignitaries lighted the lamp and inaugurated the function. Mr. Laxmikant Palit Classical music composer and his troupe sang the melodious Odia composition “Sarve Sang” as the Welcome song of the Foundation Day. Shri Pranab Kumar Mohanty extended the welcome address. Gracing the occasion as chief guest, retired IAS officer and chairperson of the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission, Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena, emphasized the importance of operational efficiency and the adoption of renewable energy sources. He emphasized that in the energy sector, we must promote renewables like solar and wind to ensure climate resilience and energy security. Operational inefficiencies directly impact electricity consumers. We must deliver services within stipulated timelines and adhere strictly to regulatory norms. Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS & CMD, OHPC in his speech has stated that OHPC is one of the largest Hydropower generating corporation in the country among various state PSUs. He emphasized that OHPC should now focus to develop PSPs in Upper Indravati, Kolab and Balimela in a time bound manner to demonstrate its strength and capability. Shri Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance) while addressing the audience spoke about the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the employees in the past years in establishing OHPC as a profitable corporation. He further highlighted that since 2011 onwards, OHPC has been continuously paying dividend to Government Exchequer. He appealed to the employees to be committed to the mission, goals and core values of the Corporation and continue working together to achieve excellence in Hydro & Solar power generation and making a positive impact on the lives of people in our state. Shri Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR) emphasized on efficient management of the corporation and implementation of future projects, organizational, human resource restructuring, human resource development, skill enhancement, application of new knowledge and techniques, succession planning, leadership development, and internal communication along with the welfare of employees and a sense of social responsibility. Director (Operation) I/c mentioned that OHPC is consistently attempting to fulfil the MOU targets in terms of Annual Generation, Machine Availability, Renovation & Modernization of old Power Stations. OHPC has been able to consistently generate clean, green and low carbon, sustainable hydro power. OHPC has been utilizing every drop of water delicately balancing the varied requirement of meeting the peak power demand of Grid in one hand and simultaneously downstream water discharge for irrigation requirement. Sh Patnaik joins OHPC with transformative leadership in human resource management. Known for his deep expertise in formulating forward-looking workforce strategies and fostering inclusive, high-performing organizational cultures, he is exceptionally well-positioned to steer OHPC’s human resource functions toward a new era of innovation, resilience, and excellence. Prior to joining OHPC, Sh Patnaik served as Executive Director (HR & Skill Development) at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), where he successfully led workforce transformation initiatives impacting over 10,000 employees. His contributions were instrumental in HAL receiving national accolades, including commendation from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the ASSOCHAM Gold Trophy for excellence in skill development. In addition to his tenure at HAL, Sh Patnaik served as Director at the Aerospace & Aviation Sector Skill Council, where he played a key role in advancing National Skill Development efforts in India’s Aviation and Aerospace industry. He began his professional journey with Hindustan Zinc Ltd. as a management trainee, where he contributed significantly to industrial relations and remarkable productivity improvement. An accomplished speaker and thought leader, Sh Patnaik regularly shares insights at leading industry forums and academic platforms. He has published several research papers in prestigious National and International Journals, reflecting his deep commitment to knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Sh Patnaik holds an MBA in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Law from Berhampur University. Odisha Hydro Power Corporation, a gold rated state PSU, is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week-2024 at its Corporate Office, Training Centre and Units situated at different locations of the state from 28th October,2024 to 3rd November,2024. All the employees took the integrity pledge on 28th Oct 2024 at their respective offices. Banners and posters regarding vigilance awareness were displayed at strategic locations in the office premises to raise awareness among all.

International Women’s Day was celebrated at Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. on 6th March 2024. Dr. Chidatmika Khatua, Social Enterpreneur, Educationist and CEO, Sushruta Hospital graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Sri Subash Chandra Jena, Director (HR) of OHPC was present during the inaugural session of the programme and addressed the gathering. Sri Jena gave the inaugural address and emphasized on the empowerment of women and gave real life examples of Women in powerful positions around the world. He further emphasized that women are born powerful, empowered. Hence, no need of empowering them. Dr. Khatua while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the fact that women have an inner Kasturi fragrance. i.e power in them and they have to realize its importance. Women are there to spread happiness and positivity. She also talked about her journey throughout the years in tribal development and health sector. The vote of thanks of the inaugural programme was presented by Ms. Smruti Sudha Panda, Manager (PR). On the occasion of the Women’s Day celebrations, a workshop was organised in association with Dr. Ashok Kumar Mangaraj, Director of BRAINSTAIN. Dr. Mangaraj carried out session on women empowerment and also focused on achieving emotional stability for women. The next session was by Ms. Laxmi Priya Senapati, an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant. Ms. Senapati gave inputs on Nutrition and Eyecare with respect to Women. All the female employees of the Corporate Office were present during the programme & enthusiastically participated in the same. Gifts were distributed to all the participants at the end of the event.

Inaugural Meeting of small hydropower plants sectional committee WRD 29 of Bureau of Indian Standards The national mirror committee (NMC) to ISO / TC 339 small hydropower plants held at BIS New Delhi on Feb 27, 2024. Members from FISH PAN India (Federation of Indian Small Hydropower), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Central Water Commission, UJVNL Limited, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, Orissa Hydro Power Corporation Limited, Hydro and Renewable Energy Department, Punjab Energy Development Agency, Geological Survey of India, Central Water And Power Research Station, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (Neepco), ANDRITZ HYDRO Pvt. Ltd., Voith Hydro, FLOVEL Energy Private Limited delebrated in the meeting and decided course of action including preparing and finalising various standards related to small hydropower development broadly through under general, civil works and E&M works categories. For the next ISO / TC 339 meeting, items have been also proposed for presentation from India.Mr Malay Kant Swain attend Sectional Committee of BIS for Small Hydro.

The 1st World Odia Language Conference was inaugurated on 3rd Feb,2024 . With an impressive background and vast experience , Sh Mohanty will play a key role in driving our organisation's mission and vision. He has assumed the charges of the office of Director (Finance), OHPC on 04.11.2023. Sh Mohanty is a member of two premier professional bodies i.e. Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) from 1993 and Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) from 1996. Embarking on his journey with OHPC as Company Secretary in the year 2013 , Sh Mohanty had assumed additional charges as Head (Legal) and Chief Vigilance Officer of OHPC and the Company Secretary-cum-Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha Limited (GEDCOL), a wholly owned subsidiary of OHPC. As the CFO,GEDCOL, Sh Mohanty has comprehensive portfolio which includes execution of three nos. of Solar Power Plants of 32 MW across the State of Odisha and also playing a pivotal role in implementation of many other Solar Projects and SHEPs. As Company Secretary, OHPC he is instrumental in the disinvestment of 49% of shares of OPGC from AES to Govt. of Odisha and also transfer of 49% shares of OCPL from OHPC to Govt. of Odisha. Sh Mohanty possesses around 30 years of rich experience in diversified Business areas such as Board Level Functions, Company Secretarial, Disinvestment, Finance, Accounts, Project Financing, Legal, HR, Banking, Trust, Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Tender, Contract Management, Land Acquisition, Vigilance, Policy matters etc. in many State PSUs i.e. NESCO & OTPC and many other reputed Private Sector Companies.

Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, IAS, Chief Secretary of Odisha launched E-Office for Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Limited developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) and implemented by the Centre for Modernizing Government Initiative(CMGI) under 5Ts initiative of General Administration (Administrative Reforms) and Public Grievance Department at 11 AM on 03.11.22 in the 2nd Floor Conference Hall in the Lokaseba Bhawan.
